Happy 20th Anniversary!!! to me!!!

There may be times when I wonder how in the world we made it this long,
then there are moments like this.

And I know exactly how we made it.

Love, love, love, love!!!

I tell him all the time how lucky we are that we still love each other, I must admit that sometimes I say it joking, but it really is true. We are so blessed to love each other just as much as we did when we were dating. I look around and see so many people who are unhappy or just not content I suppose and it makes me realize how truly lucky I am.

Here's to another 20 years.

Who needs words when you have this view?

I know, it's beautiful isn't it!

Cades Cove

The trees were absolutely gorgeous!!! We saw a few little animals wondering around.

The turkeys would come right up to the car. We saw a lot of them. My husband couldn't wait to go to Cades Cove. It is a valley in the middle of the Park where you can drive through and see all kinds of animals. We saw turkey and deer, but what we really wanted to see was a bear. But, as luck would have it we didn't see any bears.

As we were riding through, he kept saying you look out your window, and I'll look out mine. I will tell you if I see something. My window was nothing but woods. All the good stuff was on his side. But it was really pretty, and we enjoyed it.

More to come!!

What is it?

I was talking with somebody the other day about something funny that happened to them and when I finally quit laughing, I started thinking about the funniest thing that has happened to me.

No I have to tell you my list is long, very long. Luckily I am a "laugh, and the world laughs with you kind of person", so I pretty much take it all in stride.

There were a few things that have happened that I didn't laugh about until later, but I like to find the humor in all things. So today, I want you to tell me the funniest thing that has happened to you. Like I said, I have more stories than you can possibly imagine so I will start off with a few of my own.

First there was the time when I worked at the bank, and my boss (male) had asked me to hand him someones loan application. I was pretty busy as you can imagine, so I didn't really look up at him, I just said here, and handed it to him behind my back. He just happen to be walking a little closer than I had expected him to be and when I flew my arm back I hit him right in the ________. I just couldn't bring myself to say it but you know where. He doubles over and when I finally stop apologizing for actually hitting him there, he can't stop smiling.

Once I worked at a grocery store. (I am a people person.) I had a little lady who came in pretty regularly to purchase her "cooking" wine. Gallon size! She did a lot of cooking! Once, a man who happened to be behind her in line, made a little comment about the size of the bottle. My regular, didn't like that comment at all. She began to shout that she used that for cooking and SHE DID NOT DRINK!!! How dare he say that to her? After a few minutes of that tirade she finally left. That poor fellow behind her really didn't mean anything, just having a little fun. People should really loosen up.

Last but certainly not least was when my car alarm went off in the Dollar General parking lot and I didn't know how to turn it off so I just drove home with my car alarm blaring away!! Embarrassing!!
I blamed that one on my kids most of the way home, then once the embarrassment was starting to wear off, we laughed all the way home!

Ohh, I thought of one more. When I was probably 18 or 19, my best friend and me and my sister went to this bar at the beach. It was loud and you really couldn't hear very well at all. Hence the funny story. So any way, we walk up to the bar to order a drink. We were not sure what they had so my sister makes me go first. She wanted to know what kind of wine they have so I ask. Well, again it's really loud so he says something and I couldn't understand him. So after he gets finished talking he asks what we are having? I look at everyone and they are all looking at me, waiting for an answer, so I say, I'll have regular. The bar tender looks at me and brings me red. Once he walks away my sister and friend couldn't hear what I said so as we sit at the table and I tell them the story, we laughed until we almost wet ourselves.

OK, your next!

The Winner is. . . . . .

I absolutely love, love, love, love, love Hell's Kitchen. I know Gordon Ramsey comes off as some Meany, but sometimes when you watch, you will catch the sweet side of Gordon.

Last night was the season finale, and it came down to Dave and Kevin. Both are absolutely great chef's. Dave is really strong in the kitchen but comes off a little cocky at times. I have to say I didn't think it would happen like it did, but I am so excited about the outcome.

Congratulations to Dave!!!! I was so glad Dave won, he seemed to be truly grateful!! He was a real trooper this season. He broke his wrist and kept on cooking. What a man, huh? I have to say that Dave never complained about working with any of the chefs, and he wasn't ugly to any of them. He showed them respect and in the end it paid off.

Every season the final 2 get to pick from some of the chefs that competed with him, and lucky for Dave he had won a challenge and he got first pick. He made the perfect choice with Ariel. (She was in the final 3 for you people who don't watch). So the first person Kevin picked was Van. He was a good chef who didn't always have the best attitude. But he cooked his heart out for Kevin.

I love the way they announce the winner, by having them stand behind the door and turn the knob, if your door opens, YOU WIN!!! Dave was so surprised, after his door opened he just stood there. He didn't go down the steps, he just stood there. His fiancee and sister ran up to hug him. It was really sweet.

I guess sometimes the nice guy does win.

Whip It!!! Whip it Good, Whip it real Good!!!

This weekend, BG and I went to see this movie. It was rated PG-13, for Language, and a little skin, but nothing naked. I have to say that I loved Ellen Page in Juno. I thought she was just the funniest thing. You know how some people have that dry sense of humor, and they are funny in a sarcastic kind of way, well that's the way she is. But while some people just look like a smart aleck, she pulls it off really well.

It has a good story. You know the classic high school kids who don't exactly fit in with the "cool" kids. But she finally finds something she is good at and excels at it!! I have to say it really brought back memories of Roll-A-Bout Skating ring, on Bicentennial quarter night. Man, how long ago has that been? (I know, a really, really, long time ago.) I started thinking too, when was Roller Derby big? 70's? I really don't know, I didn't watch it, and vaguely remember anything about it. Maybe it was when wrestling was big.

Speaking of wrestling that reminds me of a story, I actually know a guy who loves, loves, loves, Rick Flair. Woooo!!! Anyway, once he went to a wrestling match and stole his wrestling belt. Yes, the big, gold, shiny belt that they all wave in the air because they are great wrestlers.
The Championship belt!!!! He still has it today, because he isn't a teenager anymore either people. Sometimes, if you are really good, he will show it to you!

If you haven't seen this yet, it is soooooo good!

Get out a little, see a movie with your kids, just don't go skating and break your wrist!! Hee, Hee, that really did happen. It sucks to get old!!

It's Finally Finished!!!!

It has felt like it took FOREVER to finish this monster of a re-do, but I am finally finished.

Here are just a few before pictures to remind you of it's beauty. The doors were a real turn off for me, they just screamed 70's!!!

This was just a picture during, after I took everything out and ripped the doors off. (Which I did by myself people, Mr. Wonderful decided he would rather be fishing.)

After a lot of sanding, fighting with the Mr. about how l
ong it was taking him to get the doors done, then when he finally finished, I painted, then let it dry, then painted again, and letting it dry some more. I finally got it finished, and put together.

There are a few things that I am going to tweak, like the middle door, on the 70's model, that door didn't even open, but when I had my husband make these doors I wanted it to open, and it does, but I didn't really like the way he did the handles. (I told him they should all be going the same way, but he said I was too late.) So I think I am just going to take the middle handle off, fill in the holes and paint over it.

Also, the shelves are glass, that's why they are a little hard to see. But overall, I really like it. My mother in law was over last night, and she even liked it. (That's where it came from, so I have to say I was a little nervous about it.)

Next, I just have to organize it. And no, I won't be putting the dolls back in it, they are in the attic, in a plastic bin. (My mother in law did ask about the dolls.) Hee, Hee!!!!!

A small project.

While I am waiting for the paint to dry on my bigger project, I decided to tackle a smaller one to actually look like I was getting something done.

Take some fabric. (See above)

An old frame.
(See below)

And behold, a very cute memory/bulletin board.

I used some spray adhesive and attached the material to
a piece of foam core the size of my frame.
Then I just put a backing on the frame and Voila!!

PS. Pay no attention to the bad sheet rock job in the back.
