Saying Goodbye to Summer

This past weekend we decided to go to the river one more time, before it starts getting cooler.

We had a fantastic day on the water, just look at how smooth the water was.

Slick as a baby's butt!!

Not bad for catching fish either.

Red drum.

We caught 4 over the course of the day, of course these are just for the fun of catching them, then you throw them back.

But what fun they are to catch.

The next day brought rain, but it didn't matter, what we couldn't do on the boat we made up for at the house.

Played games, drank wine, did some swinging, watched some movies, enjoyed our friends.

I am going to miss summer.

Tree Trip

This past weekend, we set out to get our Christmas tree, and this year we decided to go somewhere different.

We headed to Lake Lure.

It was amazing, we had perfect weather, and we hiked, and we just had a ball!!

And while the whole purpose of the trip was to get our Christmas tree, we got that on the way home.  We picked out a really nice tree, it was about 8 feet tall and it cost us all of $36.

Yes, I said $36.

That's one of the reasons we get our trees from a choose and cut farm.

It is fresher, and it is usually cheaper.   Now, I do remember buying a tree for $25, but it was bought sight unseen, and it ended up being about 4 foot tall.

No kidding!

So we don't do that any more.

Here are some pics!

And finally, the tree.

Party on the Patio

Last weekend we had some friends over to help us celebrate the final completion of the patio!

So of course I took pictures.

Chairs are all set up.  Baby Boy made my adirondack chairs and we loooovvvve them!  I have told him I want a loveseat made like that.

I am sure he will get right on it.

My goofy husband made faces in every picture we took of him, so just becuase here is one of them.

Funny People

Last night a friend surprised me with a ticket to see Jeanne Robertson.

LIVE, in person.

I know, it's not that big a deal if you've seen her before but I hadn't.  Not in person, I mean.
But it was fantastic!

She was so funny, and she even had a message in her madness.   With life being so stressful sometimes, it is great to be able to find humor in the everyday things we deal with.

Thanks Wanda, it was awesome!

The greatest of these is LOVE!!!!

This weekend my friend married her "Prince", after the vows she sang him a song.
There wasn't a dry eye in the house!

I don't know when I have seen a more beautiful wedding, it was perfect for those two beautiful people.

Here are some snapshots of the farm.

How cute is that?

Everyone signed the barrel.

And here are me and my girls.

And I just had to put one more of the happy couple!

What God has joined together, let no man put asunder.

Big D and little D

This is a picture a friend of mine sent me of her son at the Golf course with the deer that frequents the area.  He (the deer) is known for his friendliness and he will even take a ride in the golf cart with you.

Isn't he cute?

The young man is pretty handsome too, but since he's not mine, I thought it best to make him anonymous.  That and the fact that he already has a girlfriend.

They actually live right at the golf course and the deer has come up to their house and let them pet him through the window.

They sent us a picture of that because of course, we didn't believe them when they called and told us.

I guess seeing is believing!

Meet and Greet!

Meet Jana.

She was the winner of my giveaway. While she was visiting Nonny, she brought her kids over to see our goats. I think they enjoyed it, I know the goats did anyway. Nothing like a little white bread to make a goat happy.
