Week 3

It's week three can you believe it?

I can't.  This weeks challenge is to come up with creative date idea's.

Hmmmm, could be interesting.

I have to admit, our idea of a date, is watching our daughter's basketball game, then picking up a pizza on the way home.

Basically, we are homebodies, Mr. Wonderful is quite the chef, so I would just as soon stay home and let him fix me supper rather than go out and spend way more for a so-so supper.

Know what I mean?

So I am going to have to come up with something pretty exciting to get us off the couch.

But hey, that's why they call it a challenge, right?

Week 2

OK, so we are in the 2nd week of the marriage challenge.

And I can see why it's called a challenge.

Not that my man isn't praise worthy because he is, it's just that in the middle of a busy,
crazy week it's hard to remember to stop and praise him.

And this week, we are suppose to come up with creative ways to say we love him.

So, I  might have to put my creative thinking cap on for this one.  Some suggestions were love notes, or texting sweet notes to him.  Now I would like to say that we tell each other
every day that we love each other.  Every day!  We don't miss one, so it's not that we don't tell each other because we do.

We've just done it so much, now it's more of a habit than a feeling.

Like so many other things in life we do it so much we lose the reason we do it in the first place.

So this week, I am going to make a conscience effort to make sure when I tell him I love
him, he can tell it's coming from my heart and not just my mouth.

Are you up for a challenge?

I have decided to take part in THIS challenge.

I have done something like this before, but I wanted to try again and see if this time, my husband notices.

I did the Love Dare before and I honestly had to tell him about it when it was over because he didn't seem to notice all the nice things I was saying and doing.

I know, right?

But lately I have become so taken with this blog that I really feel convicted to take on
this challenge.

I want to be a better wife to my husband, and a better mother to my kids.  Even though they are almost grown, I know that everything we do is an example to them.  I just want it to be a good example.

Lately I have been praying specific prayers for my husband, prayers that will enrich his
relationship with God.

I am trying to make myself be more submissive to my husbands needs.  I am not specifically talking about affection here either, we all have more needs than just physical ones, and the emotional ones are what seem to make or break relationships.

I want to be more than just his wife, I want to be his friend.

Now don't get me wrong, we have what I think is a good relationship, but there is always room for improvement.

So, is anyone else up for a challenge?

How will you remember them?

You meant to hurt me, but God turned your evil into good to save the lives of many people, which is being done.
Genesis 50:20

This morning as I was watching the coverage of the Connecticut shooting, (Good Morning America), there was a reminder to not let this tragedy be what we remember but let the children lives be remembered.

With that they challenged us to a random act of kindness in remembrance of a child whose life was taken too soon.

So far the response has been amazing.

Things from a donation of Christmas trees, to strangers paying off layaway's   All this in remembrance of the victims.

How will you remember them?
