Here's the latest.

Here it is, my latest project in the before stage.

I had already taken the drawers out, as you can see, and I am debating on the color to choose.

Part of me really wants to do this in red.

I know, red?

But I haven't decided for sure, any suggestions?

Treasures

We have this treasure from God, but we are like clay jars that hold the treasure.  This shows that the great power is from God, not from us.  We have troubles all around us, but we are not defeated.  We do not know what to do, but we do not give up the hope of living.  We are persecuted, but God does not leave us.  We are hurt sometimes, but we are not destroyed.
2 Corinthians 4:7-9

This was the scripture that we ended with at Bible study last night.

How awesome is it to know that as Christians we have the gift of the Holy Spirit in us, I wonder if we really access that power that we are able to draw on as we could.  I mean, if we earnestly seek God's will in our lives, there is nothing that he can't do.

Nothing!

I think it is easy for us to forget that when God tells us something he means it.

Maybe that is because all around us we see imperfection, and it is hard for us to grasp perfection.  But it's there, if we just believe.

Several weeks ago we started something new called Hope, to begin with we wrote down some names of people who we want to be in heaven with us.  Then we said we would pray for those people.

That's all just pray for them.

So, this past weekend someone who was on my list, came to church.

I know that's not huge, they've been to church before.

But it's a step, and every journey begins with a step, right?

So, like the book says,

Don't worry about anything, instead pray about everything.

Happy Mothers Day!!!

Happy Mothers day to all the ladies out there, and especially to this one.

Happy Mothers Day, Ruby!!!

You are a wonderful mom, and I just hope I am half the mother you are.

As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you;
And you will be comforted in Jerusalem."

Milk paint dresser!

This was my first time using Miss Mustard Seed's milk paint, and while it took me a few times mixing it up to get a feel for it, I really like it.

For a first I decided to go with this freebie from my friend.

Sorry the picture has a glare from the window, but I think you pretty much get the idea.

First of all, it's 100 years old, and it's starting to show its age, her laminate was beginning to peel, but I just couldn't help thinking how pretty she would look all dressed up.

So after peeling the veneer off with my steam mop, might sound weird but all the bloggers say steam is the way to go so I just used what I had.

Honestly, that probably took me about a week of working on it every night after work, I finished.

We also had to rebuild one of the drawers because it fell off the truck while we were moving it, but we finally got her ready for paint.

So, I went with Miss Mustard seeds grain sack.

I painted her all up and stained the top.

I have to say, this is my favorite re-do ever!!!!

I mean ever!

Love, love, love it!!

Now, I just have to find a place to put it.

Time for our annual Free Yard Sale!!

This Saturday our church Phillips Chapel UMC will hold it's annual FREE
Yard sale.

This is just one of our outreach ministries that we do in hopes to make a difference in the community.

When we started this ministry a few years ago, some people had their doubts about how it would go, but as you probably know, we don't always see how are actions bless others, we just have to do the right thing and trust the Lord.

So that's exactly what we did, and just when you think you are just giving away free stuff you hear a story of how a simple free yard sale blesses people just when they need it.

So if you are around, please feel free
to stop in and shop.

We must not become tired of doing good.  We will receive our harvest of eternal life at the right time if we do not give up.
