Zoo Pictures!

Just a few pictures from a recent Zoo trip. As hot as it was, I really couldn't believe all the animals that were out that day. I think we got to see all the animals except for the elephants which was the one animal my niece kept saying she wanted to see. But as you can see in the pictures, she was happy even if she didn't get to see the elephants!

Girls Nite Out!!

It's been longer than I thought since I last blogged. When I don't work as much, I don't really get on the computer as much. What does that say about my job? Hmmmmm. Anyway, this past weekend my girlfriends and I went to see our friend sing in Chapel Hill.
Fun, fun, fun!!! Too much fun really!

We all had a great time, the place she sang was a little fancy for us country girls, we look a little under dressed don't we. But we all had a wonderful time.
We don't really get to see each other as much as we would like, our kids are active, we don't get as much "me time" as we would like, but when we do get together we make the most of our time.

Friends like these are one in a million!

Tag!

My good friend Nonny tagged me to write 10 unknown things about me.

I can't really think of 10 things that people don't know about me, but I will give it a shot.

1. I really want to go to Maine.
2. I've never flown anywhere.
3. I met my husband at the grocery store.
4. Out of 20 years of marriage, I think I have only mowed the yard about 5 times. Not bad, if I do say so myself.
5. For the first 15 years of our marriage the only "new" furniture we ever got was a sofa and love seat, everything else was second hand. The only other new thing was my bedroom suite that I got last year.
5. When someone makes me really mad, I will cry.
6. I can't stand for someone to tell me what is going to happen in a movie. My daughter is bad about that one.
7. I went on a road trip once with my best friend and her brother to Washington DC, and it seriously turned into a comedy, everything that could go wrong did.
8. Once I got a speeding ticket taking my sister back to the hospital and I tried to hide from the cops, they found me and yes, I got a ticket!
9. I like a good scary movie.
10. There is not a food that I can think of that I wouldn't try, as long as it is cooked. * I can't think of anything right now anyway.

I know that is a pretty lame list but I don't do well under pressure.

My Favorite Store!

While we were on vacation last week, we once again, stopped at my all time favorite store.
This time, I took some photo's of the GREAT furniture and stuff that they have.

How can you not love this store?

This picture certainly speaks for itself, who doesn't LOVE pocketbooks?

This is the greatest hunting and fishing store ever!!!!

The name of the store is Awesome Outdoors in Washington. Ladies, I have never been to a better store. The men can go look at fishing stuff and guns and you can mosey on over to the Girly side with the pocketbooks and furniture. They even have jewelry. I love it!

One of the things they sell that I didn't get a picture of (because I was afraid of getting caught) was cow hide rugs. I love them! If I had this rocker then I would want one of those rugs to go under it.

Don't you love this rocking chair.

It is the coolest chair I've ever seen!

As you can see it has a little bit of everything. Furniture, pocketbooks, it has all kinds of cool stuff. And the best part is you can look all you want because your man is lost somewhere in the hunting and fishing section.
It doesn't get any better than this!

Almost True Story!

This is the last of my daughters stories. Please don't call DSS on me!!

A memory that I have was when we went to Disney World and I got lost. I was about 5 years old, and me, my brother, and my cousins were running around in this huge playground area. Then they started going faster and faster until I couldn't see them. After that I was all alone. I ran around crying for my mom and then someone who worked there helped me find them. That is my memory that I have
.

OK, now this is mostly true. Only she was probably 4 at the oldest, and her mom had went to the bathroom and left someone else in charge. That person let them all go on this huge playground thingy that was made like those climbing things with ropes and stuff. Basically it looked like a huge net. When I came back and asked about the kids I was informed they were all playing. When I saw the other two without her I panicked. I got in the blooming playground myself! Still couldn't find her so I sent her brother (7 at the time) back in to help me find her. After a very long few minutes, she came walking out of that playground looking very lost. I think it scared her just as much as it did us. Although my husband missed the whole thing because he was off riding a ride, while I was searching frantically for my baby. She did get asked by a worker if she was lost but by then she saw me and was coming to me.

Don't say it, I know what you're thinking.

She was probably off somewhere doing drugs.

Prayer

It seems like there has been a lot going on lately. I have had several friends that have undergone tests, had surgery, or just seem to be having problems that Dr.'s can't seem to figure out.

With all that going on, I do a lot of praying. I pray when I'm driving, or at work, or just sitting around reading or whatever. I truly believe that God answers prayer. That's not to say that everything is always answered the way I want it, but I am learning to be more at peace with the answers that I do get. While I was looking through my bible, I came to the Psalms where David was praying any type of prayer you can imagine. A prayer to be protected, prayer not to sin, prayer for safety and a prayer for victory. While I was looking at that it got me thinking about what I pray for.

When I was in school I remember praying to pass a test. Did you ever do that? No, it must just be me. I don't even remember if I did or not. Now, I pray for my family, my husband, my kids. I pray a lot for my kids. I pray a lot for myself, that I am a good mom, wife, daughter. I also pray for the ability to hold my tongue on the occasion that I might say something ummm, mean. I know, you can't believe I would ever say anything mean, but believe me it has happened. I am constantly stumbling.

We talked in Bible study about how prayer can deepen your relationship with God. I think it does, for me anyway. And I find, the more I pray, the better I feel. It gives me comfort to know that I can take any problem I have to him. Anything from a physical need to a problem at home/work/school. Nothing is too trivial, we are that important to him, he loves us that much. That is a good feeling.

What do you pray for?
