Wordless Wednesday, almost

On our way down east we pass a church that has this gorgeous statue, this past weekend I asked Mr. Wonderful to stop so I could get a good picture of it.

It is huge!

And it looks to be hand carved.  Not positive because there was no one around to ask, but just look at the detail.

Love it!

PS  Jesus loves you, this much!

Blues' new home

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend, ours was great.

We had a few mishaps, but all in all great.

I finished my $35 wardrobe and we got it moved to its new home.

I love how it turned out.

We kept two of the drawers up top out and we are going to put baskets in there.

I like it!

My Wagner spray painter!

This past year for Christmas I asked for a paint sprayer.

And I actually got it.

This is the kind I got.  It's a Wagner as you can see.  And it certainly isn't what you might consider top of the line, but I have never used anything like it before so I thought it best to start small.

This was a find off of Facebook that I got for $35.

I know, I couldn't believe it either!

Anyway, I decided the weather was finally nice enough for me to use my sprayer.  I took off all of my hardware and removed the drawers, and got ready for working.

My color of choice was Cosmopolitan.  It's in the blue family.

And here she is all prettied up.

I am loving the color.

So, how was the sprayer?

I thought it did well, I had to practice a few times but after I got the hang of it I thought it had a nice smooth flow.

As you can see there was quite a bit of over spray.  Seemed a little wasteful but I learned to live with it.

When the paint starts getting low, it will mess up the spray pattern and I had to reload my paint cup twice so that was a bummer.
But it does come with the hose so you can do continuous spray, which I may try next time.

All in all, I liked it.

I did two coats, and I have to say it was definitely a huge time saver, I would still be painting this thing if I had hand painted it.

So I will give it a Thumbs up!

Great day for a Yard sale

I don't know why but it seems like lately I just have not had time to do anything that I want to do.  You know, like how all your time is filled doing stuff.  And sometimes that's all it is "stuff".

So I decided to fit in a little bit of me time.

Last week when our church had its Free to you yard sale, I went on a little scavenger hunt of my own and found some great stuff.

Probably about 3-4 yards of toile fabric for $1, yes I said $1.

The plate was $3, but I really liked it, and the candle stand was 50 cents.  The plan is to paint the candle holder.

And I got this cabinet for $15.  I actually got that for my mom because her microwave stand has had it.   But of course I am painting it first.

Happy Mothers Day!

Happy Mother's day to every woman who has ever cared in any way for any child.  Some of the women who influenced me the most didn't have kids of their own but they loved all the other kids just like they were theirs.

So even if you don't have kids, you still have influence!

Happy Mothers day to my mom,  Happy Day Ruby!

Happy Mothers day to my Mother-in-law, Happy Day J!

Happy Mothers day to all the ladies in my life, my friends, my family peoples', aunt's, cousins, sister in law, my sweet co-worker, all my peeps!

I hope your Mother's day is awesome!

New Bible study

We started a new Bible study a few weeks ago on Prayer.

We were all given some questions about what we thought about prayer and what we wanted to get out of our study.

It has just been a great study so far and we are still in the beginning stages of it, but one of the things that was brought up in class was this.

If God already knows what will happen, then why pray?

We discussed this a little last night.

Can we change God's mind?  I doubt it, but there is some merit to the way Moses pleaded for the Israelites when they were making Idols and God wanted to kill them all and start over.  But Moses begged God not to do it, and in his "praying" he must have decided that he would give them another chance because he didn't destroy them and start over like he told Moses he would.

Did Moses change his mind?

I don't know.  Maybe.

Was God just trying to see if Moses would stand up for the people that he just delivered from captivity.

Maybe.

Does God take our feelings and wishes in consideration if we earnestly, and humbly take it to him in prayer?

I hope so.  I really do, but I also know that he is all knowing and it will only happen if he allows it to.

So do we stop asking God for help when we need it?

Never.

Because if there is something we can take away from the relationship that Moses had with God then it should be that if we will continue to seek him and ask him for guidance, and strength to do his will, then there is always hope that we can get to the same kind of relationship with him that Moses had.

I am sure Moses got as frustrated with those people as I get with people in my life too, but even in his frustration and disappointment he continued to pray for them.

So should we.

Summer

Today I saw my first snake of summer.

Pretty sure it was just a black snake, but still, it was a snake.
