It's Finally Finished!!!!

It has felt like it took FOREVER to finish this monster of a re-do, but I am finally finished.

Here are just a few before pictures to remind you of it's beauty. The doors were a real turn off for me, they just screamed 70's!!!

This was just a picture during, after I took everything out and ripped the doors off. (Which I did by myself people, Mr. Wonderful decided he would rather be fishing.)

After a lot of sanding, fighting with the Mr. about how l
ong it was taking him to get the doors done, then when he finally finished, I painted, then let it dry, then painted again, and letting it dry some more. I finally got it finished, and put together.

There are a few things that I am going to tweak, like the middle door, on the 70's model, that door didn't even open, but when I had my husband make these doors I wanted it to open, and it does, but I didn't really like the way he did the handles. (I told him they should all be going the same way, but he said I was too late.) So I think I am just going to take the middle handle off, fill in the holes and paint over it.

Also, the shelves are glass, that's why they are a little hard to see. But overall, I really like it. My mother in law was over last night, and she even liked it. (That's where it came from, so I have to say I was a little nervous about it.)

Next, I just have to organize it. And no, I won't be putting the dolls back in it, they are in the attic, in a plastic bin. (My mother in law did ask about the dolls.) Hee, Hee!!!!!

  3. I love this! I have a thought on the knob situation... do you have an extra one? You could put it on the right hand side of the middle door and then there would be symmetry amongst all the knobs. You'd know one knob was a dummy, but it wouldn't have that 'two and one' thing going on. I am always amazed at what paint can do!

  6. It looks gorgeous now! If you put burlap or some other fabric or wallpaper in that back of it, it would really pop.
