OK, I am so psyched, I have been working on a new project, and I am almost finished.
Can't wait for you to see it.
I hope you like it!

Being Fearful
Last night was, you guessed it Bible Study.
Are you sick of hearing about Bible study? I hope not, because I don't plan on quitting it any time soon. Besides, I like it, and I'm a big girl and I can do what I want!
Anyway, last night we continued in Luke 11. Jesus was warning the disciples to not be like the Pharisees, now of course he wasn't talking about ALL Pharisees just the ones who were more concerned with how they looked to other people, and not concerned with how they looked to God.
At one point he tells them, "I tell you my friends, don't be afraid of people who can kill the body but after that can do nothing more to hurt you. I will show you the one to fear. Fear the one who has the power to kill you and also to throw you into hell. Yes, this is the one you should fear." Luke 11:4-5
I have heard a few conversations about Fearing the Lord, and I wonder how much we actually fear the Lord now. Society doesn't show much fear of anything these days. It's seems to be an "All about me" kind of thing.
I wonder, do you think this angers God? When I think of all the things that God has done when he wasn't happy with his people, it makes me fearful.
What do you think? Do you see us as a fearful nation?

Fast, fast food!
This past weekend was a ball tournament for BG, we had to travel to Winston, not too far, but not that close either. And usually, when we go to these things we take plenty of food. Usually picnic style with plenty of waters and Gatorade's.
This weekend I decided since we would be done relatively early, we would just stop somewhere and get a quick bite.
So we decided to stop closer to home at a fast food place, I won't say the name, because, well you'll see when I'm done with the story.
Now, this restaurant is never crowded anyway, never. It's one of BG's favorite places so we decided to stop, I at first thought we would just go through the drive thru because we were pretty close to home and after the beating the girls took, I was ready to get home.
But believe it or not Mr. Wonderful decided we would go in and eat, (so of course this is all his fault). There is another customer in there with her child but as we sit down, she is leaving. The guy taking our order was very polite, couldn't have been nicer really.
We get our drinks, and sit down, waiting on Mr. Wonderful with the tray. When he sits down and distributes the food a few more employees decide to mosey on over to the front counter where they are in the middle of a conversation.
It goes like this:
Girl: It was the worst sex I've ever had!
Boy: Why?
Girl: Because I'm fat!
(I want to say at this point I thought, poor girl, that has nothing to do with it, you know, low self esteem, etc.)
The rest of the conversation was way more graphic, HBO, Cinemax graphic!
By now I had told Mr. Wonderful, if you don't say something I will, it was beginning to get ridiculous. Of course the kids, didn't want us to say anything, but why start listening to them now right?
I mean listening to that conversation, which we could clearly hear, word for word, yet we were embarrassing them?
So when he says something they disperse, but by then, I'm pretty ticked, so I tell him to get their names. My son is telling everyone to hurry up and eat so we can leave at this point. My daughter said she was going to sit in the car.
HELLO, I paid good money for this food, I would like to eat it without feeling like I was at the Circle G. (This was an adult drive in, and NO I didn't ever go.)
So, we finish and leave, vowing that we will never darken their doorstep again! The more I thought about it, the more I thought that the girl doing the talking may be the manager. She was wearing a different shirt than the rest of the employees and when my husband said something, she sent the boy to the back!
I have called the number on the back of my receipt and I have called the central office, they will definitely hear from me, just out of curiosity what would you have done? Let it go? I tried to at first I really did, but they just wouldn't stop talking about it. Believe it or not I don't like confrontation but at what point do we stand up for what is right?
What would you do?

One in Four
This morning started out just like every other morning, in that after I pour my coffee, I sit down to watch the weather on the local station.
This morning they were doing a story about The Second Harvest Food Bank. They do a yearly event where you buy a ticket, get a hand crafted bowl, and a bowl of soup. It's to raise awareness that 1 in 4 children in NC go to bed hungry.
To think that my kids complain when there are no chips in the cupboard is a little embarrassing. My kids have never had to go to bed hungry. The thought of any child being hungry is so sad to me.
What are we gonna do about it?
Our church gives regularly to Loaves and Fishes, which is a local food bank. But with so many people out of work, I can't help but feel like we should be doing more. And by we I mean me. I am sure there are people in my community that may need help, but probably would not ask. And frankly they shouldn't have to, Should they? I mean as Christians, and just as human beings we should be helping our neighbors?
So, I will do something, not sure what it will be right now, maybe just a donation, or maybe something else.
What will you do?
"And whoever in the name of a disciple gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward."Matthew 10:42

Falling on Deaf ears.
Luke 9: 44,45
"Don't forget what I tell you now: The Son of Man will be handed over to the people." But the followers did not understand what this meant; the meaning was hidden from them so they could not understand. But they were afraid to ask Jesus about it.
Last night at bible study, someone asked a question about why the meaning was hidden from the disciples when Jesus told them he would be handed over to the people. This led to a discussion about how we don't always see what God is doing until he is ready for us to see him.
And then someone asked, What do you think God is doing right now in the world?
Now, that is a pretty broad question in that we are talking about the whole world and not just our little neighborhood, or in our lives for that matter. I can tell you that my little peanut brain could not even begin to know what God is doing.
Take the disciples, they don't want to think that Jesus will have to die on a cross, so they don't want to talk about it. How many situations have you been in where things may not be perfect but instead of facing them, we try to act like it is happening to someone else, or just ignore it all together.
When the time comes, and goes, then we are able to look back and see where God was in the situation. Some situations can be so painful that it takes us longer to find him, if I suppose we find him at all, in them. But I think that even if we can't see him, that doesn't mean he wasn't there.
But God has an infinite plan that we will only see completed when we are with him. Where we are, is exactly where we are suppose to be.
That is amazing to me!

Happy Birthday Baby Boy!
I can't believe you are 18!
I remember when you were born, we were on our way to the hospital and I think your father decided to hit every pot hole in the road. Not to mention that he stopped to get a magazine on the way.
Like he was going to be reading while I was having a baby. That's a laugh! Hmmmph, men!
Anyway, we go to the hospital where unfortunately, while I was having what I thought at the time were major contractions, it turns out, it was about to get worse!
After a very long labor, you decided it was time to get out!
That was then,
and this is now. . .
I hope you know how much we love you, and how proud we are of you!!

Miracle Cleaner
Last week a man stopped by our office selling some cleaner. As luck would have it I was the only one who was there that day, and I have to say that generally I do not do well with sales people. I don't know why, I guess I just can't say no or something. Usually I say I am not the person who is authorized to make that decision.
That's a good cop out isn't it? And it's true to boot. But anyway, a salesman came in and wanted to demonstrate his cleaner. I hated for him to have to go through his whole spill, only to hear that I am not authorized to make that decision so I kind of went ahead and broke it to him gently.
Can I just tell you how nice he was, and he had a movie star name. A really nice man. Usually when people come in selling this cleaner they only sell it by the case, and it isn't like buying a bottle of Windex so I just let him show me what his cleaner could do, and as good as it was, I wouldn't be able to get any.
He politely told me that if I liked it he would sell me as few bottles as I wanted. OK, l am a succer for a sales pitch. I can't help it. So when I saw how this stuff cleaned I just had to have it.
When I got home, I mixed some of my All Mighty Dirt Buster up and started cleaning. I cleaned my bathrooms, I cleaned my windows, I cleaned my SS refridgerator. I couldn't wait to clean!
Who would have thought one little cleaner could make me so happy?
