Big D and little D
This is a picture a friend of mine sent me of her son at the Golf course with the deer that frequents the area. He (the deer) is known for his friendliness and he will even take a ride in the golf cart with you.
Isn't he cute?
The young man is pretty handsome too, but since he's not mine, I thought it best to make him anonymous. That and the fact that he already has a girlfriend.
They actually live right at the golf course and the deer has come up to their house and let them pet him through the window.
They sent us a picture of that because of course, we didn't believe them when they called and told us.
I guess seeing is believing!

Still Learning!
This weekend was sooooo busy!
Grandma's Birthday!
Had to go buy BG some new shoes!
Had a Coupon Class with These Girls!
The class was so informative, and they really made it seem doable! I have to tell you I know of 2 people who couldn't wait and went straight to Harris Teeter to see how good they could do and they did great. They saved at least $20, which for a first time couponer sounds great to me.
The things I learn from the blogging world are just amazing, and if I can save any money by using their tips then believe me I am gonna do it. Not only are they smart but they were super cute and even super sweet!

Chair Update
I had a question about the back of the chairs, and I have to say the back of the chairs was more challenging because so much material would show. As you can see I had some material that was showing on the edges.
To cover the edges so that it would look more finished I decided to just get some cording to go around the edges.
And it worked great.
I think they turned out pretty good for my first time.
Thanks to Nonny for being my helper once again!
I am linking up to The Shabby Chic Cottage!

And the winner is. . . . .
I have to say that I have loved this year's Survivor with Heroes and Villains. I loved all the Heroes, especially Colby. I really wanted to see him go all the way to the end, but old Russell must have thought he had a better chance of winning if he was gone.
So here are the final three.
Parvati, Russell, and Sandra. Now, Parvati has won before and so has Sandra, Russell has not. Bless his heart he really thought that stabbing people in the back would pay off in the end, and guess what? It didn't.
I have to say I was glad when Sandra won the first time, and I was just as happy for her this time. I like Parvati too, she just seemed to play the game a littledirtier more aggressive than Sandra.
I'm glad Sandra won! She was as honest and up front as any player I've seen. Other than CW, he should have gotten a little farther in the game, but he trusted Russell and it didn't pay off.

Ask yourself
Last night at Bible study, we were talking about how things have changed and are changing in Church.
One thing we learned was how when the Methodist church was first beginning they had small groups, which I love by the way. Small Groups are the in thing I guess you would say now, but what I loved about the way they use to be done was the questions that they were asked.
I think the Pastor said they asked about five questions, but 3 really stuck out in my mind. Keep in mind that they met weekly and had discussions on the same questions.
First of all, What evidence have you seen of Christ in your life?
Second, What temptations were you subjected to?
Third, what temptations did you fall prey to?
Those I think are great questions, the first one being my favorite. So, I want to share my answers with you.
I have got to say I see evidence of Christ all around me, from the flowers and the trees, to my family, and even my job. This week I was aware of how God put me in a great work environment with fellow Christians, as I watched a coworker helping a friend. I saw my sister in law take my mom to the Dr., all of those things are evidence of Christ and his works in my life.
What temptations have I been around? Hmmm, this one could get sticky. I feel sure I have gotten angry over something stupid, I have been short with my kids, and I have envied what I don't have. Now, I am sure that isn't all, but it's all I can think of right now.
What temptations have I given in to? Well, while I was angry I probably said some things that I definitely shouldn't have said. I thought some pretty unkind things, and remember thinking it is just as bad as saying or doing it. I think that this week, that pretty much does it, but it is just Thursday.

Happy Mothers' Day!!!
I hope everybody has a great day.
Thanks to mothers everywhere who taught us all the important lessons in life.
I love you Mom!!!
You were There.
You were there when we took our first steps,
And went unsteadily across the floor.
You pushed and prodded: encouraged and guided,
Until our steps took us out the door...
You worry now "Are they ok?"
Is there more you could have done?
As we walk the paths of our unknown
You wonder"Where have my children gone?"
Where we are is where you have led us,
With your special love you showed us a way,
To believe in ourselves and the decisions we make.
Taking on the challenge of life day-to-day.
And where we go you can be sure,
In spirit you shall never be alone.
For where you are is what matters most to us,

Mr. Lovewell
On the way to work this morning I was listening to K-Love, and they were telling stories about Mr. Lovewell.
If you haven't heard of him, check this out.
Just imagine, what a difference you could make.
Do you have a Mr. Lovewell story?

Like New Chairs!!!
I did it!
I finished my first upholstery project, and I must say, I love it!!
Here's the before.
The table and chairs were given to us when we moved into our house by my in-laws. We've had it for 15 years. That should help explain the stains.
After we (Nonny, helped me take them apart and take off the fabric), tore them apart then I took a little black paint and just wiped it on to make the finish a little darker.
This is a side by side, it's not a huge difference, but still darker than it was.
And here it is finished.
I still can't get over how good they look. I don't think it looks too bad for my first time.
I had 6 of them to do, and I had to re-do one of them, but I think it was well worth it.
